This year we decided to get a real tree because the artificial is somewhere in storage. We went to a place in Port Vincent. The kids had as much fun running around between the trees as cutting a tree down.
Each one of the kids took a turn cutting the tree down:
DS Cubs didn't fair as well this weekend. Davin scored another homerun in the first game Sunday morning. He pitched 2 innings with 0 walks. The team will have some new faces this year. Check out their website in my links.
The DS Cubs went undefeated in the Halloween Haunt Tournament at Cypress Mounds. Davin hit his first home run of the 2008-2009 season with a fly ball to right field that went all the way to the fence. Davin pitched 2 innings on Sunday. He struck out every batter that he faced for a perfect 6 up and 6 down. The first inning he had a perfect pitched inning with 9 strikes in a row with no balls.(Only been done 39 times in the history of Major League Baseball) The second inning he only threw 2 balls with 9 strikes.
Davin getting some last minute tips from Coach Chris Batty.
Kids enjoyed Halloween. We pulled the wagon around the neighborhood. We actually only covered half the neighborhood. They were too tired to continue. When I was young we hit every house as many times as we could. Daniel was a ghost. Madalyn was a dancer. Dathan was, can you guess, a baseball player.
Davin went with his friends from school to Trick or Treat. Dallin ran around the neighborhood with his friends as well.
Cummings boys do it again! Davin and Daniel played fall ball at PARDS. Their team finished first place in the season ending tournament. This will be the last season for a couple of years that they can play together. Davin actually played on 2 teams this fall. His tournament team needed some help and he didn't hesitate to get some more playing time. One saturday he played 4 games back to back. He had to change uniforms in the bathroom between games. Daniel pitched for his first time. He pitched the last inning of a game. He struck out 2 players with the third hitting the ball right to his brother at first base for the easy out. Both boys were hitting well this season. Daniel scored the only home run for the Cummings boys while Davin got on base every time at bat for all three games of the tournament.
Thanks for visiting our Cummings Family blogsite. We will be updating, hopefully, on a regular basis to keep you informed of what's going on. As soon as I get it all figured out, I will include some pictures and audio. Thanks and enjoy!
